Senior Molecular Biology Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our team at Immunocore, a pioneering biotechnology company dedicated to developing transformative medicines for oncology, infectious diseases, and autoimmune diseases.
Key Responsibilities- Validate Novel Therapeutic Targets: Contribute to the nomination of novel therapeutic targets onto our portfolio and advance new pipeline programs as a member of project teams.
- Build Disease Biology Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) disease biology and stay up-to-date with key opinion leaders in the field.
- Elucidate Target Biology: Evaluate representative models of cancer and healthy tissues using in vitro ImmTAC assays to further understand target biology.
- Analyze Relevant Literature: Conduct in-depth analysis of relevant literature to aid in the triaging of potential cancer targets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional project teams and act as a representative in these teams.
- Experimental Result Analysis: Analyze and report experimental results verbally and in writing, and contribute to writing research publications.
- Scientific Accomplishments: Demonstrate a record of scientific accomplishment through publications, presentations, patent applications, and/or contributions to regulatory submissions.
- Time Management and Agile Work Practices: Demonstrate astute scientific approach with strong time management and agile work practices.
- Technical Expertise: Possess experience with histology techniques, such as FFPE/frozen tissue sectioning and Immunohistochemistry, as well as molecular biology techniques including primer design and qPCR, western blotting.
- Disease Biology Knowledge: Have in-depth knowledge of AML disease biology, molecular heterogeneity, stem cell biology, and representative models.
- Industry Experience: Possess a drug-hunting industry record.
- Advanced Analytical Techniques: Experience with analysis of single-cell RNA sequencing data (10x), bioinformatics, pathology training, and complex cell and 3D models.
Normally requires a PhD in a scientific discipline and a minimum of 2-5 years related experience; MSc degree or BSc degree with role-specific equivalent research or industrial experience.
