About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled NGS Scientist to join our Research Development team in Oxford. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the development of new products and technologies, including laboratory preparation, sequencing, bioinformatics, and data interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the introduction of new products, technologies, and methodologies to enhance existing efficiencies and expand our product portfolio.
  • Develop solutions to resolve scientific and technical issues, and implement methods to address them.
  • Plan and conduct experiments, analyze results, and maintain the integrity of sequencing data.
  • Write experimental methods and results using quality guidelines, and present findings at RD meetings.
  • Ensure a smooth flow of information between RD and other departments, and stay up-to-date with relevant scientific and technical developments.
  • Produce required documents for technical transfers.
Requirements
  • Hold a minimum of a BSc, up to PhD, or equivalent in Life Sciences, with experience in sequencing-based molecular approaches, design, and development of molecular biology assays.
  • Demonstrate hands-on experience with targeted NGS assay workflow execution and operation of different sequencing technologies.
  • Be an effective communicator, both in writing and verbally, with strong IT skills to summarize and present complex datasets.
  • Be well-organized, with good time management, and able to multitask effectively, performing complex studies in parallel with minimal supervision.
  • Have the tenacity and desire to understand and persevere with obtaining results, and be a strong team player with excellent attention to detail.
