Job Title: Full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant Required in Darwen

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Primary School in Darwen. This is a full-time position, working 5 days a week from 08:30 – 15:30, providing 1:1 support for a Year 4 student with SEMH needs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist in the preparation and delivery of daily lessons, provide support to individual students or small groups, and work under the guidance of the class teacher to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of daily lessons.
  • Provide support to individual students or small groups to help them understand the material and complete their tasks.
  • Work under the guidance of the class teacher to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help manage classroom resources and setup for activities.
  • Supervise students during non-classroom times including lunch and recess as needed.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and recording of student progress.
Requirements:
  • Must hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar role within a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with children.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
