Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Social Care Specialist to join our team and respond to newly arrived unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Kent. You will support them on their journey in the UK, ensuring their voice is heard and advocating for their best interests.

You will work across Kent, collaborating with key partners and working within a variety of scenarios to achieve the best outcomes for vulnerable children. This role offers opportunities to enhance and develop your social work knowledge and skills, as well as apply your expertise to age assessments, child protection concerns, and interagency working.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must be a qualified Social Worker with registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England. You will also require an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service. Additionally, you should have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and other professionals.

Benefits

As a Senior Social Care Specialist with Kent County Council, you can expect a competitive salary of between £32,933 and £43,592, depending on your experience. You will also receive:

  • A minimum basic salary of £32,933 per annum
  • An annual leave allowance of 29 days rising to 30 days after 5 years' service (plus bank holidays and an extra day off at Christmas)
