About Us

Kent County Council is an exciting organization that operates in a hybrid model, offering a unique blend of office-based and remote working opportunities. As a Care Specialist with our adult sensory service team, you will have the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals affected by deafness or deaf blindness.

We work with adults who have various care and support needs, prioritizing their empowerment and independence. Your role will involve conducting assessments, applying for court orders, and engaging with local communities to provide trusted support networks. Our social care interventions are structured around three pillars: excellent practice, exceptional innovation, and meaningful measures.

Our Team's Approach

We use strengths-based practice, focusing on individuals' desired outcomes and goals. Our teams are imaginative, locally focused, and flexible, making us an ideal place for registered practitioners with a similar approach. We prioritize collaboration, professional development, and career growth opportunities.

About You

To succeed in this role, you should be an experienced or newly qualified social worker with capability of practice according to current professional standards, legislative, and policy frameworks. You must hold registration with Social Work England and possess high literacy and communication skills, both verbal and written. A positive attitude, forward-thinking approach, and a commitment to building relationships with individuals, families, and carers are essential.

The Role Offers

In return for your expertise, we offer an attractive benefits package, including a generous annual leave allowance, market premium payments (subject to eligibility), and access to our social care academy. You will have opportunities for flexible working arrangements, professional development, and career progression routes. Regular supervision and critical reflection on your practice are also part of our support package. This role requires a Full UK Driving Licence, but we will consider applications from candidates unable to drive due to a disability.
