We are seeking a skilled Fire and Security Systems Technician to become a vital part of our team at Dalkia UK. This full-time, permanent role is centered around providing exceptional service in the Edinburgh area.

Role Overview

· Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance, and additional emergency tasks in line with contractual obligations related to Fire and Security Systems.

Objectives

· Emphasize the expected team dynamics to achieve significant outcomes for the organization, assisting Dalkia in maintaining its competitive edge and esteemed reputation among clients.

· Uphold strict adherence to Health and Safety regulations at all times.

· Demonstrate responsiveness and collaboration to meet assigned tasks efficiently.

· Contribute to a unified team dedicated to delivering superior service to clients.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

· Perform PPM according to established schedules, ensuring engineering standards are upheld to maximize the effectiveness and reliability of Fire and Security Systems.

· Comply with engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements.

· Ensure onsite Quality Assurance protocols are followed and maintain accurate documentation related to Fire and Security Systems.

· Respond promptly and effectively to all relevant reactive maintenance issues and help desk inquiries.

· Coordinate initial actions for all client requests.

· Manage visits from specialist subcontractors concerning Fire and Security Systems as part of the PPM schedules.

· Address call-outs and manage breakdowns and emergencies as required by the contract.

· Conduct fault diagnosis related to PPM or Reactive maintenance tasks.

· Provide assistance to other trades as necessary.

· Prioritize and manage workload effectively.

· Generate reports regarding work and equipment as needed.

· Undertake miscellaneous tasks as requested by the client.

· Actively pursue opportunities for contract growth into additional service provisions, including System Upgrades, Like-for-Like replacements, and Project works.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

· All personnel are expected to fulfill their legal obligations to ensure the health and safety of themselves and others who may be impacted by their actions, adhering to all guidance and instructions provided in this regard. Qualifications and Experience

The following qualifications, skills, and experience are relevant to this position:

Essential Qualifications

· Completion of a Fire & Security Apprenticeship (or recognized equivalent).

· Health and Safety Training certification.

· GCSE (or equivalent) passes in Mathematics and English.

· Relevant industry experience in maintenance duties, including fault diagnosis and preventative tasks.

· Comprehensive experience with fire alarms, supported by certification.

· Proficiency in both IP and analogue CCTV systems.

· Valid IPAF training and Chapter 8 ECS card.

Desirable Qualifications

· City & Guilds Part 3 (Electrical Installation 2360) or equivalent.

· Familiarity with IT & Networking.

· Supervisory experience for future advancement opportunities.
