This position emphasizes the execution of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) services, focusing on the repair and upkeep of essential life safety systems while adhering to Health & Safety protocols.
About the Company
Our client is a prominent national provider of fire safety, security, and electrical solutions, particularly within the Social Housing sector. With a robust portfolio of new contracts, they are on the lookout for skilled technicians to join their existing team, ensuring the highest standards of safety and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and install fire alarm systems (BS5839-1) and emergency lighting systems, along with Nurse Call and Access Control systems, in compliance with relevant British Standards.
- Accurately complete service reports and document all maintenance activities.
- Identify and report any deficiencies or deviations in safety systems.
- Maintain and report on emergency lighting systems and associated equipment, including fire extinguishers and AOVs.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and coordinate with the Engineering Technical Supervisor to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Adopt a proactive Health and Safety mindset, identifying potential risks and reporting issues promptly.
- Aim for first-time fixes wherever possible.
Qualifications
- Flexible availability for a minimum of 40 hours per week, with opportunities for additional earnings through overtime and on-call duties.
- Possession of a full UK Driving License.
- Demonstrated experience with fire alarm systems, including both analogue addressable and conventional types.
- Relevant FIA training (or equivalent) to BS5839-1 Fundamentals.
- Understanding of BS5839, particularly parts one and six.
- Proficient IT skills.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in the workplace.
