Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Esland, supporting children with complex needs.

About the Role:

This is a full-time permanent position, working alongside our class teachers to support students who require additional help. The successful candidate will have a strong awareness of how to meet the needs of primary and secondary-aged children who have experienced difficulty in accessing mainstream education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with accessing our broad balanced curriculum.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to develop their skills of independence.
  • Be a team player and advocate for change, progression, and continuous school improvement.
  • Relate well to children and adults, and work constructively as part of a team.

Requirements:

  • Appropriate knowledge of first aid.
  • Able to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.
  • Working with or caring for children.
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning.
