About the Role:

Canada Life Limited is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Risk Officer to join our team. As a Compliance Risk Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective implementation of our compliance program and identifying and mitigating risks to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform independent compliance assessments and reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of our compliance program and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with senior business leaders to ensure compliance practices, processes, and policies are followed and effective.
  • Lead and deliver a broad range of compliance assessment reviews across our multi-jurisdictional regulated businesses.
  • Plan, test, and agree reviews in line with our methodology and collaborate with all levels of management to agree proposed findings and final reports.
  • Report on the effectiveness of our systems of governance, risk management, and the design and operating effectiveness of our control framework.

Requirements:

  • Detailed working knowledge of regulatory requirements, particularly those related to financial services and risk management.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues simply and effectively at all levels of the business.
  • Proven experience in project management and risk-based assessment methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and other governance functions to achieve common goals.
