Job Overview

Roche is seeking an experienced veterinarian to support the development of its external animal welfare assurance program. As a key member of our Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization, you will work closely with our Animal Welfare Officer to ensure compliance with animal welfare practices in external research and testing establishments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct external animal welfare diligence and monitoring activities at research and testing establishments.
  • Provide expert advice on laboratory animal science and medicine.
  • Review and contribute to the development of external studies.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest 3Rs principles and disseminate information within the organization.
  • Monitor and review metrics on the external animal welfare assurance program.
  • Act as a deputy to the Animal Welfare Officer for external animal use.

Requirements

  • University degree in Veterinary Medicine recognized by the RCVS.
  • Professional qualification and experience in laboratory animal medicine and science.
  • Understanding of animal care and use programs.
  • Experience at an AAALACi-accredited laboratory animal facility.
  • Sound knowledge of EU regulations on animal care and use for research purposes.
  • Demonstrated skills in communication and collaboration.
