About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator/Engineer to join our team at Nationwide Building Society. As a key member of our Central Functions and Economic Crime portfolios, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our database systems.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in SQL Server clustering, High Availability, and AlwaysOn Availability Groups topology. You will be responsible for designing, building, and implementing database solutions that meet the needs of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements
  • Ensure high availability and performance of database systems
  • Monitor and report on database performance and maintenance
  • Support business change outside of normal working hours
  • Collaborate with project teams to deliver database activities

Requirements

  • Experience in SQL Server clustering, High Availability, and AlwaysOn Availability Groups topology
  • Strong understanding of Windows Failover clustering
  • SQL administration and deployments, including dacpac and ispac
  • Monitoring and reporting on database performance
  • SQL infrastructure solutions, including database design
  • Performance tuning of large databases
  • SQL/SSIS development
  • Basic understanding of Networking
