About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior MS SQL Database Engineer to join our team at Nationwide Building Society. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and implementing databases to support our business applications.

As a Senior MS SQL Database Engineer, you will work closely with our project teams to ensure the successful deployment of database solutions. You will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining database performance, as well as providing technical guidance and support to other team members.

We are looking for someone with a strong background in SQL Server administration, including experience with clustering, high availability, and AlwaysOn Availability Groups. You should also have a good understanding of Windows Failover clustering and SQL infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement databases to support business applications
  • Work with project teams to deploy database solutions
  • Monitor and maintain database performance
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest SQL Server technologies and best practices
Requirements
  • Strong background in SQL Server administration
  • Experience with clustering, high availability, and AlwaysOn Availability Groups
  • Good understanding of Windows Failover clustering and SQL infrastructure solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
