Environmental and Sustainability Manager

Workdry International is seeking an experienced Environmental and Sustainability Manager to join our team in Middlesbrough. As a key member of our SHEQ team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing our environmental management systems to minimize our impact on the environment.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing environmental functions within a business environment. You will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation, and renewable energy. You will also lead the implementation of environmental policies and practices, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and review environmental management systems to improve our environmental performance.
  2. Coordinate pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation, and renewable energy initiatives.
  3. Lead the implementation of environmental policies and practices.
  4. Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and regulations.
  5. Liaise with relevant bodies, including local authorities, public bodies, and competent bodies.
  6. Audit, analyze, and report environmental performance to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  1. Proven experience in an environmental or sustainability role within a business environment.
  2. Able to promote and raise awareness of environmental activities, influencing internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to compile accurate statistics and data, and write factual environmental reports.
  4. Demonstrable commercial awareness and understanding of our commercial responsibilities to major framework partners.
  5. Able to set organizational sustainability targets, develop plans to meet those targets, and oversee their delivery through effective project management.
