Job Description

Bunzl UK & Ireland supplies a wide range of products to various industries, including food packaging, disposable supplies, and cleaning products. As a talent partner, we're seeking professionals with a good understanding of Accounts Payable to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Accounts Payable process, accurately processing purchase and expense invoices, managing and reconciling supplier accounts, and resolving queries and arranging payments to suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Investigate discrepancies in prices and quantities
  2. Receive, scan, and record supplier and intercompany invoices, matching invoices to orders and posting to the appropriate supplier accounts
  3. Timely management of purchase invoice and payment queries, updating tickets, liaising with suppliers, and resolving issues through internal communication channels
  4. Generate payment runs and raise manual payments as required
  5. Perform monthly and ad-hoc supplier statement reconciliations
  6. Set up and maintain supplier accounts
  7. Record purchase card spend and reconciliations
  8. Highlight recurring issues and process improvement opportunities to line management
  9. BACS payment experience
  10. Other Accounts Payable/Purchase To Pay activities to support the team
Requirements
  1. Computer literate, numerate, attention to detail, logical, and methodical approach
  2. Recent graduate looking for their first role in finance
  3. Ability to follow documented and auditable processes
  4. Knowledge of Sage accounting system or similar
  5. Written communication skills
  6. Organisational skills and interpersonal skills
  7. Manage demanding workloads and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  8. Enthusiasm for working with people and a flexible approach to work
