The Welsh Mountain Zoo – National Zoo of Wales is seeking a dedicated Animal Keeper to join their team. As a key member of the animal care team, you will be responsible for the daily husbandry and well-being of animals across all sections of the zoo.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality animal care and management, ensuring the health and well-being of a diverse range of species.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head Keeper and Animal Collection Manager to develop and implement animal husbandry plans.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and engage with visitors to promote the zoo's conservation efforts.
  • Contribute to the development of husbandry procedures and protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Participate in training and professional development to maintain and enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in animal care and management in a zoological setting.
  • Qualification to at least DMZAA level or equivalent.
  • Excellent observation and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality animal care and management, with a focus on animal welfare and conservation.
  • Competency in the use of Species360, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
