About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ward Manager to join our client's Mental Health team. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a mental health ward, ensuring high-quality care for patients and providing guidance to the nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the nursing team, ensuring that patient care is delivered in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the operational and administrative aspects of the ward, including staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic and effective care.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care delivery, implementing improvements as needed to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Build strong relationships with patients, families, and external stakeholders, advocating for the needs of the individuals in your care and promoting a culture of respect and dignity.
  • Champion a culture of diversity, equality, and inclusion within the ward, promoting a supportive and inclusive environment for both patients and staff.
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification with current registration with the UK NMC.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role within a mental health setting, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality care and improving patient outcomes.
  • Strong clinical expertise in mental health nursing, with a comprehensive understanding of evidence-based practices and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, families, and external stakeholders.
