About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Support Officer to join our team at Enfield Council. As a key member of our Waste and Street Cleansing Services team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing Technical and Administrative Support: Assist in the delivery of day-to-day business operations within the Waste and Street Scene Services Sections.
  • Monitoring Service Improvements: Track and analyze data to drive customer-focused service delivery and continual improvement.
  • Maintaining Knowledge and Compliance: Stay up-to-date with professional field developments and ensure compliance with legislative and Council requirements.
  • Supporting Training and Development: Assist in the implementation of training and ensure that staff are equipped with the necessary skills to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Managing Stock Control: Oversee the management of stock control for service needs, including PPE, and stay within allocated budgets.
  • Championing Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation and efficient working methods, and implement changes to improve service delivery.
  • Providing Technical Support: Offer technical support for operational matters, such as route planning and ward-based services.
  • Ensuring Data Accuracy: Ensure accurate data input, collation, upkeep, and retrieval of Council-wide ICT information.
  • Supporting Safety Compliance: Track and manage accidents and incidents, and ensure that safety policies are upheld.
  • Delivering a Flexible Service: Provide a flexible, positive, and responsive service that meets customer demands, including extended or flexible hours and off-site work.
  • Engaging with Stakeholders: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes and resolve service-related queries.
  • Ensuring Compliance and Equality: Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and promote equality and diversity in service delivery.
  • Participating in Safeguarding: Participate in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults through safe recruitment practices.
Requirements
  • Business Administration Qualification: Hold a business administration qualification and/or relevant experience.
  • IT/Technical Skills: Proficient in IT/technical skills, including Microsoft Excel and operating systems.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Skilled communicator with experience in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Time Management and Organization: Capable of managing conflicting work pressures and meeting deadlines.
