About the Role

We are seeking compassionate and skilled SEN Teaching Assistants to join our supply team, working across schools in the WF postcode, including Wakefield and nearby areas. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEN, helping them to engage in classroom activities.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored education plans and interventions.
  • Support the physical, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  • Assist with classroom activities, personal care, or any other additional needs.
  • Collaborate with the school's SENCO and teaching staff to monitor student progress.
  • Follow school policies, including safeguarding and behaviour management.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role is essential.
  • Knowledge of SEN and experience supporting children with additional needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, learning difficulties).
  • A patient, caring, and empathetic approach to working with children.
  • Excellent communication and team-working skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different school environments.
  • A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential.
