**Job Title:** SEN Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Specialist Education School in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
**Salary:** £21-23K per annum, DOE (dependent on experience)
**About the Job:**The successful candidate will work with secondary school-aged children who have complex Autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties, and behaviours that can challenge. The role involves assisting with classroom management, creating a positive learning environment, and collaborating with teachers and other professionals to deliver effective education plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with classroom management and helping to create a positive learning environment.
- Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to deliver effective education plans.
- Adapting teaching methods and resources to suit each student's needs.
Requirements:
- Experience working with SEN in either an employed or voluntary capacity.
- A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools is desirable.
- GCSE Maths and English at Level 2/C or equivalent.
- Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
- Knowledge or experience with pupils who have SEN, SEMH, or ASD.
- Ability to adapt to various situations and be creative in meeting pupils' needs.
- Commitment to putting the child first and treating them as an individual.
