Job Description:
We seek a dedicated professional with extensive knowledge of the railway operating code, service recovery, contingency planning, and safety-critical operational management. Essential skills include strategic and tactical incident management, real-time railway incident planning, strong communication, leadership, and decision-making influence.
You will engage in stakeholder management, making regulation decisions on long-distance, freight, and other cross-route operations to enhance customer and passenger experiences. Additionally, you will coordinate and facilitate the management of significant risk items of national interest, maintaining situational awareness of the national safety overview and escalating issues as necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of the railway operating code, service recovery, contingency planning, and railway operating and maintenance practices.
- Experience in operational management in a safety-critical industry.
- Experience of incident management at strategic and tactical level.
- Able to demonstrate real-time railway incident planning skills.
- Geographical understanding of the railway network.
- Ability to attain Rail Incident Commander competence.
