Your Opportunity:

As a Patient Care Support Specialist, you will play a vital role within our dedicated healthcare team. You'll provide essential personal assistance and support services to patients requiring short-term or ongoing care. Your responsibilities will encompass assisting with daily living activities, ensuring patient comfort and well-being, and collaborating closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver compassionate and personalized care to patients in various settings, including homes, community centers, and healthcare facilities.
  • Assist patients with essential activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide support with nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs, adhering to individual care plans and facility protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and observations.
  • Contribute to a safe and supportive environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory is required.
  • Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification.
