Job Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional Director of English to join our Senior Leadership Team at United Learning. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving improvement in the quality of teaching and learning in the English department, as well as providing strategic leadership and curriculum vision to raise standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate students, staff, parents, and the wider community to ensure every student achieves well.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum plan for English, aligned with the school's vision and goals.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to English teachers to improve their practice and student outcomes.
- Collaborate with other senior leaders to develop and implement whole-school initiatives that support student achievement.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of English teaching and learning, making recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
- Exceptional understanding of curriculum design and experience of leading a highly successful curriculum area.
- Proven track record of improving student outcomes and teacher practice.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff and students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with parents, staff, and the wider community.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a commitment to shared goals and values.
