Director of English

We are seeking an exceptional Director of English to join our Senior Leadership Team at Coleridge Community College. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving improvement in the quality of teaching and learning in the English department, while also contributing to the school's overall strategic direction.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading a high-performing English department, with a strong focus on curriculum design, teaching and learning, and student outcomes. You will be an inspirational leader who can motivate and inspire students, staff, and parents to achieve excellence in English.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the English department to achieve high standards of teaching and learning, with a focus on curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive English curriculum that meets the needs of all students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement the school's strategic plan, with a focus on improving student outcomes and raising standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to develop and implement whole-school initiatives that promote excellence in teaching and learning.
- Contribute to the development of the school's budget and resource allocation, with a focus on ensuring that the English department has the resources it needs to achieve excellence.
