We are seeking an exceptional Director of English to join our Senior Leadership Team at Coleridge Community College. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in driving improvement in the quality of teaching and learning across the English department.
About the RoleThe Director of English will be responsible for leading, motivating, and inspiring students, staff, parents, and the wider community to ensure every student achieves well. You will work closely with the Principal to bring about continuous improvement of the school, focusing on high standards of academic achievement, high-quality teaching and learning experiences, and high standards of behavior in lessons and around the school.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the English department to achieve high standards of academic achievement and high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
- Develop and implement a curriculum vision that raises standards within the department.
- Work closely with the Principal to bring about continuous improvement of the school.
- Lead, motivate, and inspire students, staff, parents, and the wider community to ensure every student achieves well.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and effective curriculum.
Coleridge Community College is a small, family-oriented school in Cambridge that values its staff highly and treats workload seriously. We are looking for someone who shares these values and passionately believes that all children can achieve, no matter their starting point, background, or needs.
What We OfferWe offer a range of benefits, including:
- A competitive salary of £58,000 - £60,000.
- 37.5 contractual hours.
