Hays Senior Finance is proud to be working in partnership with the Gloucestershire Constabulary to recruit a Chief Accountant to join their organisation in Gloucester. This role would be well-suited to a first-time mover from practice looking for their first industry role or someone currently working within the Local Government.

The successful candidate will have a CCAB qualification, technical experience, and high levels of accuracy and attention to detail. They will be able to work well to deadlines and calmly take challenges one step at a time to deliver solutions.

The core responsibilities of this role include leading on the development and coordination of financial statements, responsibility for statutory and non-statutory reporting, and responsibility for the systems of financial controls. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the production of the Capital Programme and the capital elements of the Medium Term Financial Plan.

In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will provide an effective treasury management function and develop, manage, and motivate the Technical Team. They will work closely with the wider Finance Team and other colleagues to drive innovation and efficiency for the department and force.
