BSAVA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Finance and Services to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective financial strategies to support the charity\u2019s growth and ambitions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure compliance with statutory, funding, and tax regulations, and fulfill the charity\u2019s requirements as a charity, company, and employer.
  2. Lead the statutory audit process and production of the Annual Report, coordinating the completion of year-end processes.
  3. Attend Board and Audit and Risk Committee meetings, providing clear and accurate reports to enable them to assess the association\u2019s financial, compliance, and risk management situation.
  4. Develop a long-term financial strategy that will support the charity\u2019s ambition for growth.
  5. Support the Chief Executive and Leadership Team with new business development and change management initiatives.
  6. Make recommendations to further develop the Shared Services function in order to optimize resources and enhance the efficient running of the Association.
  7. Support the Leadership Team in development and review of business models, commercial proposals, optimizing pricing strategies, and analysis of potential revenue.
Requirements
  1. Qualified as a finance professional or be qualified by demonstrable experience.
  2. Finance experience at a senior level, guiding executive and non-executive colleagues.
  3. Experience of financial modeling and development of KPIs.
  4. Line management experience.
  5. Ideally, experience of charity accounting including preparing statutory accounts for audit.
  6. Experience of managing other business areas and support functions would also be an advantage.

BSAVA currently boasts over 10,000 members, the majority of whom work in practice as veterinary surgeons or veterinary nurses.

The charity\u2019s beautiful offices in Quedgeley (Gloucestershire) were completely renovated in 2017, and the successful post holder will be offered the opportunity to work from home up to three days per week.

The role offers a full-time opportunity with an excellent benefits package, including 7% contribution towards Group Personal Pension, private medical insurance, free parking on site, and 25 days holiday (rising to 28 days after three years).
