Job Summary:

The Royal Borough of Greenwich is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Arborist Manager to join our team. As an essential member of our Arborist Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and maintenance of our trees throughout the borough.

Role Overview

This is a full-time position (35+1 hours per week) with a competitive salary range of £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to your basic salary, you will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including access to training and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise a team of arborists, ensuring they have the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct risk assessments and equipment checks to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with industry standards and legislation.
  • Manage attendance and associated paperwork, as well as assisting with the maintenance and making safe of all trees throughout the borough using the relevant tools and equipment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:NPTC qualifications in chainsaw use and climbing operation units (CS30, 31, 38, 39 & 41).A minimum of 2 years' experience in all aspects of arboricultural work, including industry standards/legislation and tree species identification.A good understanding of health and safety procedures and protocols.A full driving license (B+E) or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable timeframe.
