About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Research Analyst to join our research team for Green Steel News and Price Reporting. Reporting to the Research and Analysis Executive Director, you will take a leadership role within our growing steel practice.

As a key member of our Steel and Steel Raw Materials group, you will be responsible for managing junior staff and working closely with our industry-leading steel and steel raw materials research team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report steel prices weekly, including prices and premiums for Green Steel, with an emphasis on the European market.
  • Launch new steel price assessments, define price specifications, gather market feedback.
  • Generate news content on the steel sector, with a focus on Green Steel, for our daily and weekly news deliverables.
  • Conduct periodic research pieces on topical industry issues, such as regulatory/policy developments, geopolitical issues, investment, project pipeline, ESG.
  • Maintain client and industry relationships, bringing these relationships from prior roles.
  • Share and source market intelligence.
  • Engage in business development, assisting our account managers in the sales process through maintaining sales pipelines and assisting in the sales process.
  • Represent our company as a public face in the steel space, via client/stakeholder engagements, industry presentations, media interviews, content marketing.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in the steel or steel raw materials industries or markets.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrable impact and influence skills.
  • Excellent ability to present and to lead public discussions, such as moderating panels at conferences.
  • Quantitative skills advantageous.
  • Exemplary written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within a team while sometimes operating alone.
  • Ability to manage others while maintaining personal output.
  • Bachelor's degree.
