External Affairs Manager

We are seeking a skilled External Affairs Manager to join our team in the Chief Executive's Office at the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH). This is a new permanent role to support our wider remit.
You will have experience of stakeholder management and external affairs, preferably within a central government or social housing context. This should include experience of stakeholder mapping and analysis, building external relationships, planning and delivering activities, and collaborating across teams.
You will need to have excellent writing skills, including experience of writing speeches, together with the ability to quickly understand and explain social housing policy and regulation issues. You will need a strong grasp of the social housing stakeholder landscape and an interest in politics.
We operate a hybrid model of working with a mix of office and home working. Our Manchester office will be relocating during 2024/25, however will remain within the city centre. We offer a range of flexible working arrangements and staff can benefit from working from home for part of their hours.
Most roles involve some travel within England between our offices, with some roles also involving onsite visits to social housing providers.
At RSH, we offer a competitive salary and a range of excellent benefits. Annual salary reviews are determined by the government pay award. In addition, when the probation period is successfully completed, a performance-related bonus may be awarded, based on appraisal ratings at the end of the qualifying appraisal year.
