Medical Leadership Position in Acute Medicine

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Leader to join our team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

As a Consultant in General Medicine, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients across various specialties, including Respiratory, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Geriatric Medicine, and Stroke Medicine.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Lead a well-established team within one of our Specialties, progressing the service for Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre residents.
  • Employed by Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you will be responsible for the care of approximately 15 acute hospital care inpatients, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient clinics, and on-call for general medicine.
  • Advise colleagues on measures to prevent unnecessary admissions to Victoria Hospital and facilitate timely and appropriate discharge from secondary care.

**Person Specification**

**Essential Qualifications**

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council.
  • Primary Medical qualification (MRCP or equivalent).

**Desirable Qualifications**

  • MD, PhD, or other relevant qualifications.
  • Entry on Specialist Register or within six months of receipt of certificate of completion of training (CCT) in general (internal) medicine.

**Salary:** £90,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.

**Location:** Blackpool, Lancashire.
