We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acute Medicine Specialist to join our team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have significant previous experience in acute medicine and be registered and licensed with the General Medical Council.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in the Acute Medical Unit, Short Stay Unit, and Same Day Emergency Care.
  • Work collaboratively with the medical team to ensure effective patient management and care.
  • Develop and implement individual training plans to support the professional development of the post holder.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures to improve patient care and outcomes.
  • Participate in audit and quality improvement activities to enhance patient care and services.
Requirements
  • Primary medical qualification.
  • Full registration with the GMC.
  • MRCP Part 1 and Part 2.
  • ALS certification.
  • Minimum of 4 years full-time postgraduate training in acute medicine.
  • Experience in audit and quality improvement.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.

We offer a competitive salary of £61,825 per year, plus out-of-hours enhancements for weekends, evenings, and nights. The post holder will also have access to a range of benefits, including a named educational supervisor, induction and training, and support towards obtaining an Alternative Certificate confirming achievement of foundation competencies.
