About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant in Stroke Medicine to join our team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with acute and rehabilitation stroke needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical opinion on a full range of acute medical conditions, including medical emergencies.
  • Take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council.
  • MRCP and higher training in General Internal Medicine and Stroke Medicine, Geriatrics, Neurology, or Rehabilitation Medicine.
  • Entry onto the Specialist Registrar or a UK SpR within 6 months of CCT date at interview.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to manage risk and end-of-life decisions.
