Key Responsibilities- Abstract and analyze complex clinical information from patient health records to assign classification codes
- Ensure accurate and consistent coding practices across all specialties
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve coding queries and discrepancies
- Develop and maintain expertise in ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications
- Contribute to the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures
- GCSE Level Grade C or above (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
- Attainment of National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ)
- Biology qualification - any level
- ECDL
- Successful completion of approved NHS Clinical Classifications Service (CCS) clinical coding training
- Excellent knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy and physiology
- IT skills in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- WPAS trained
- Advanced IT skills
- Good concentration span
- Good organisational skills
This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will be required to work at various locations within the NHS. The role will involve working independently and as part of a team to achieve high-quality coding outcomes.
