The Safeguarding Children in Need team at Semester is a multi-disciplinary team that works directly with families who are identified as Children in Need under Section 17 of the Children Act 1989.

Our team supports children and families in a variety of situations, including:

  • Children who have stepped down from a child protection plan and consent to ongoing support via a child in need plan
  • Children who are privately fostered
  • Children on a Supervision Order (excluding interim orders)
  • Children on a Special Guardianship Order with a support plan
  • Children whose family has no recourse to public funds or resettlement families
  • Babies who were part of the pre-birth pathway
  • Children under 18 years of age who are pregnant or have a baby with level 4 needs

We offer a competitive pay rate, paid weekly, and provide free on-going training opportunities. Our in-house payroll system ensures weekly payments and support. A enhanced DBS check is also completed.
