Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom Buckinghamshire Council Full time
About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Early Years Officer to join our team at Buckinghamshire Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, delivering, and monitoring specialist health and wellbeing programmes and projects targeted at residents in their early years (0-5 years).

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working in an early years and/or public health environment, with a strong understanding of the early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework, special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) Code of Practice, safeguarding, and other relevant statutory documents related to early years and childcare.

The Public Health Early Years Officer will work in partnership with other local authority services areas and external partners to maximise health improvement and reduce inequalities in health and wellbeing. The role will involve providing high-quality project management advice and support, developing and influencing key relationships with stakeholders and early years settings providers.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including early years settings, health visitors, and other professionals. They will also have a strong understanding of the importance of early years in shaping future health and wellbeing outcomes.

We offer a supportive and inclusive work environment, with opportunities for continuing professional development and flexible working arrangements. If you are passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of Buckinghamshire residents, particularly in the early years, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
