About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Early Years Officer to join our team at Buckinghamshire Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, delivering, and monitoring specialist health and wellbeing programmes and projects targeted at residents in their early years (0-5 years).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key link for public health projects, providing high-quality project management advice and support.
  • Develop and deliver a range of specialist health and wellbeing programmes and projects, working in partnership with stakeholders and early years settings providers.
  • Proactively develop, influence, and manage key relationships with stakeholders to increase awareness of programmes and ensure the achievement of shared priorities and targets.
  • Work in partnership with other local authority services areas and external partners to maximise health improvement and reduce inequalities in health and wellbeing.

About You

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working in an early years and/or public health environment, with a strong understanding of the early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework, special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) Code of Practice, safeguarding, and other relevant statutory documents related to early years and childcare.

You will be a skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal and project management skills, able to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including early years settings providers, local authority services, and external partners.
