Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Design and Technology department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement an engaging and innovative DT curriculum, aligning with the institution's educational goals.
  • Support and mentor department staff, creating a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and intervention where needed.
  • Manage resources and equipment, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to wider institution initiatives.
  • Attend leadership meetings and contribute to strategic development within the institution.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong background in teaching Design and Technology, with experience across Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Leadership experience or a desire to take on a leadership role.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and management skills.
  • Passionate about Design and Technology and committed to student success.
  • A valid DBS on the update service or a willingness to undergo a DBS check.
