About the Role

The University of Cambridge is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Assistant/Associate to join the Twigger Group in the Department of Biochemistry and Pharmacology. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Cambridgeshire Multiomics of Milk (CAMB MOM) study, a dynamic and growing research project focused on women's and infant health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the CAMB MOM study team in conducting multiomics analyses, including lipidomics, metabolomics, proteomics, and transcriptomics.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of experimental and bioinformatic research protocols.
  • Collaborate with the research team to design and execute experiments, and analyze data.
  • Assist in the preparation of research papers, presentations, and reports.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance research skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in a relevant field, such as molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent laboratory skills in molecular biology and cell culture.
  • Experience with in vitro technologies, such as tissue culture, 3D organoids, and co-cultures.
  • Experience with molecular analysis, including RNA extraction and purification, protein analysis, histology, and multiplexed immunostaining.
  • Experience with multiomics analysis and a basic understanding of bioinformatics analysis.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
