About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Contract Manager to join our West Midlands Public Health Screening Commissioning Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting the effective management of a portfolio of contracts, projects, and commissioning programme changes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the team to ensure the portfolio of tasks/projects is planned, managed, and delivered effectively.
  • Support the management of contracts, including drafting contract variations, updating contract schedules, finance, invoicing, and reporting as required by the commissioning team.
  • Deputise at contract and commissioning meetings as required by the contracting team, providing a debrief and updates following meetings, including any matters for escalation.
  • When required, deputise for Contract Managers and Chair meetings, ensuring meeting administration is completed, including action logs updated and circulated.

Requirements
  • Educated to Degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification or significant equivalent previous proven experience.
  • Knowledge of commissioning and contracting of relevant NHS services.
  • Previous experience in a similar role in the public sector.
  • Able to make a connection between their work and the benefit to patients and the public.
