Job Summary

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the West Midlands Public Health Screening Commissioning Team in delivering effective services for our population. As Assistant Contract Manager, you will provide high-quality contract management assistance to the team, ensuring the portfolio of tasks and projects is planned, managed, and delivered effectively.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Supporting the team to ensure the portfolio of tasks and projects is planned, managed, and delivered effectively
  • Supporting the management of contracts, including drafting contract variations, updating contract schedules, finance, invoicing, and reporting as required by the commissioning team
  • Deputising at contract and commissioning meetings as required by the contracting team, providing a debrief and updates following meetings, including any matters for escalation
  • Deputising for Contract Managers and Chairing meetings as required, ensuring meeting administration is completed, including action logs updated and circulated

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education to Degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification or significant equivalent previous proven experience
  • Knowledge of commissioning and contracting of relevant NHS services
  • Previous experience in a similar role in the public sector
  • Able to make a connection between their work and the benefit to patients and the public
