Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom Trainline plc Full time

We are champions of rail, driven to build a more sustainable future of travel. Trainline empowers millions of travellers to find and book the best value tickets across carriers, fares, and journey options through our highly rated mobile app, website, and B2B partner channels.

As Europe's number 1 downloaded rail app, with over 125 million monthly visits and £5.3 billion in annual ticket sales, we collaborate with 270+ rail and coach companies in over 40 countries.

Our mission is to create a world where travel is as simple, seamless, and affordable as it should be.

About this role

This is an exciting opportunity for a People Operations advisor to join our UK People Operations team.

You will report into our UK People Operations Team Manager and work on all things HR, providing high-quality support in relation to both core HR processes and ad-hoc projects.

You will quickly become an integral part of the team and wider business, working closely with your colleagues in the People Ops team to monitor our People Mailbox and provide professional assistance and support around HR process and policy.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing accurate and consistent support with regards to our policies, practices, and processes.
  • Supporting the running and processing of Trainline's monthly UK payroll.
  • Developing and working with weekly/monthly reports to ensure that our people data is consistent and accurate.

We offer a competitive salary of up to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.

A strong knowledge of HR best practices and current regulations is essential, along with experience in processing payroll and a working knowledge of payroll processes and calculations, with a basic understanding of UK tax legislation.

An HR qualification isn't necessary - as long as you can demonstrate your interest in HR and show a comprehensive understanding of HR processes and policies, we'll provide you with the necessary professional development to make you an HR superhero.

What we offer

We believe in the importance of a healthy work-life balance and the value of a flexible workforce.

Our flexi-first approach outlines our commitment to a hybrid way of working and our expectations of Trainliners.

In practice, this means in-office attendance at least 40% of the time over a 12-week period for all Trainliners.

We also offer a range of benefits, including quarterly company learning days, a learning budget, puppy therapy sessions, in-office yoga, Mental Health First Aider training courses, and an Employee Assistance Program.
