Job Title: Heat Network Project Lead

We are Chronos Energy, an independent developer of zero-carbon heat networks and advisor to Local Authorities building heat networks. Our team has a wealth of experience in policy, regulation, development, design, delivery, investment, and operation of heat networks across the UK.

We require a skilled Project Manager who can bring strong technical knowledge and relevant experience to manage aspects of the development and commercialisation of the heat network. This role is essential to ensuring project activities are delivered on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Project Director to ensure the heat network project's commercial development and delivery phases are delivered on schedule, within scope, and within budget.
  • Oversee project management activities, including monitoring progress with the project team, identifying and escalating risks or delays, and updating the programme as needed.
  • Manage project risks, including creating and maintaining risk registers, identifying and mitigating risks, and escalating when required.
  • Own project reporting, including preparing monthly Board reports and external grant funding reports, and collaborate with the Finance Manager to monitor budgets and spending.
  • Manage a wide range of stakeholders, including Local Authorities, other public sector bodies, developers, and commercial organisations, through stakeholder mapping, tracking, and management.
  • Support business development activities, assisting the Project Director Sales Director with customer interactions via the CRM system, and managing the programme of activities for onboarding new customers.

Requirements:
  • Agile, Prince2 or other relevant project management qualification.
  • Experience of project management activities including creating and maintaining project programmes and other tools.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft packages, including Microsoft Project.
  • Experience managing complex, fast-paced projects relating to the development or delivery of large scale low carbon energy projects.
  • Experience managing a complex and diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with the ability to work across multiple work streams in a fast-paced and complex delivery environment.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and develop an excellent working knowledge of the business and sector.

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum depending on experience.
