Financial Strategist for Clinical Biopharmaceutical Company

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Strategist to join our team at Robert Walters UK. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading finance functions and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all finance and admin processes, including global consolidated accounting, IT governance, risk management, and general business operations.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation of policies, processes, and procedures for the finance and admin functions.
  • Build close working relationships across the wider team and lead relationship with statutory auditors and other third-party professional advisers.
  • Review management accounts and investor reporting figures, and take ownership of all global tax activities.
  • Responsibility over global expansion and compliance, including cap table management, complex loan and preference share transactions.
  • Lead role in the development of an Information Security Management System to an ISO27001 standard.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant with strong technical skills at a group consolidation level.
  • Industry experience is a must - biotech/pharma background.
  • 'Self-starter' - highly organised, proactive, efficient, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in life sciences, ideally in a global biotech that has transitioned from pre-revenue through to commercialisation.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • 'Roll up your sleeves' attitude - willingness to get involved with any business needs even if they don't fall directly within the scope of the role.
  • Netsuite system experience is a plus.

What We Offer:

  • Salary: £75,000 - £90,000 per annum + Bonus.
  • 25 days holiday.
  • 2:1 matched pension contributions.
  • Flexible hours.
  • Mainly remote role, with occasional meetings in Oxford.
