Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Finance Strategist to join our remote team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a small finance team, oversee global finance and admin processes, and drive commercialisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full ownership of financial processes and controls, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation of finance and admin policies, processes, and procedures, enhancing operational efficiency and transparency.
  • Build close working relationships across the wider team, fostering collaboration and open communication.
  • Review management accounts and investor reporting figures, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Lead relationship with statutory auditors and other professional advisers, ensuring effective governance and risk management.
  • Full ownership of global tax activities, including compliance and planning.
  • Responsibility for global expansion and compliance, navigating complex regulatory environments.
  • Cap table management, maintaining accurate records and ensuring strategic alignment.
  • Develop an Information Security Management System to an ISO27001 standard, protecting sensitive data and assets.
Requirements
  • Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA) with strong technical skills at a group consolidation level, able to interpret complex financial data.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, demonstrating leadership and strategic thinking.
  • Self-starter with strong organisational, proactive, and efficient skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to articulate complex financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in life sciences, ideally in a global biotech transitioning from pre-revenue to commercialisation, bringing industry-specific knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, requiring high levels of autonomy and initiative.
  • Willingness to get involved in business needs outside the role, showcasing adaptability and flexibility.
  • Netsuite system experience desired, but not essential.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £75,000-£90,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive a bonus, 25 days' holiday, pension contributions, and flexible hours. While the role is remote, occasional travel to Oxford may be required for meetings.
