Job Opportunity: Lecturer in Construction Management

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lecturer in Construction Management to join our team at GBS Global Applied Knowledge. As a Lecturer, you will play a key role in educating and inspiring students in the principles and practices of construction project management.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive course materials, including live online learning, to ensure all learning outcomes are met.
  • Supervise student work, provide support and feedback, and stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements.
  • Contribute to the decision-making process and develop productive working relationships within the team.
  • Participate in staff development activities, peer observations, and student support initiatives.
  • Meet clearly defined objectives for student outcomes, satisfaction, retention, and attendance.
  • Undertake administrative duties as agreed with your line manager.

Requirements:

  • An honours degree in construction management, project management, or equivalent, with qualifications at least Master's level in a relevant subject area.
  • A Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification, or commitment to enrol on a teaching programme during the probationary period.
  • Previous lecturing experience for similar courses, with experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter, with a firm commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups of people.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge and a track record of teaching construction management with a specific focus on building information modelling (BIM) and digital technologies relevant to construction at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • Experience in facilitating computer-aided design workshops.
  • Full membership of CIOB or an equivalent body.
