Construction Management Lecturer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lecturer in Construction Management to join our team at GBS Global Applied Knowledge. As a Lecturer in Construction Management, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the principles and practices of construction project management.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality teaching materials and courses on construction project management, including project planning, risk management, sustainability, and construction technologies.
- Supervise student projects and provide guidance and feedback to ensure students meet learning outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in construction project management.
- Contribute to the development of academic programs and courses in construction project management.
- Participate in staff development activities and peer observations to enhance teaching and learning practices.
- Provide support and guidance to students, including those with diverse needs and abilities.
- Meet performance management objectives for student outcomes, student satisfaction, retention, and attendance.
- Undertake administrative duties as agreed with your line manager.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in construction management, project management, or a related field, with a PhD or equivalent professional experience.
- Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification, or commitment to enroll on a teaching program during the probationary period.
- Previous lecturing experience in construction project management or a related field.
- Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback.
- Experience teaching in the wider subject area of construction project management.
- Experience with distance learning and supporting learners both online and face-to-face.
- Professional conduct in all interactions with staff and students.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter.
- Firm commitment to personal and professional development.
- Attention to detail and accurate reporting.
- Ability to maintain thorough and organized student records.
- Ability to work under pressure, plan, and prioritize own workload to meet tight deadlines.
- Highly motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge and track record of teaching construction management with a specific focus on building information modeling (BIM) and digital technologies relevant to construction at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- Experience in facilitating computer-aided design workshops.
- Experience of designing or developing academic or professional education programs or equivalent.
- Full membership of CIOB or an equivalent body.
