About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine to join our team at the Regional Hyper-Acute Rehabilitation Unit (RHRU). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing medical care and rehabilitation to in-patients on the RHRU, working closely with the multi-disciplinary teams and supporting the Unit Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take primary responsibility for the medical care and rehabilitation of in-patients on the RHRU
  • Work with the multi-disciplinary teams on the ward, supporting the Unit Director and providing supervision to junior medical staff
  • Provide specific expertise in the management of acute and complex medical conditions following brain injury, liaising with other specialities within the hospital and across London as necessary
  • Contribute to teaching and training, as well as to audit and research
Requirements
  • GMC Registration
  • CCT in Rehabilitation Medicine (or entry expected within six months of interview date)
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • Training in specialist neurorehabilitation and management of patients with complex neurological disabilities
