About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rehabilitation Medicine Specialist to join our team at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. As a Consultant in Neurological Rehabilitation, you will be responsible for providing expert medical care and rehabilitation services to patients with complex neurological disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide primary responsibility for the medical care and rehabilitation of in-patients on the Regional Hyper-Acute Rehabilitation Unit (RHRU)
  • Work with the multi-disciplinary teams on the ward, supporting the Unit Director and providing supervision to junior medical staff
  • Develop further skills and gain experience in Rehabilitation Medicine
  • Join the RHRU Medical team to provide specific expertise in the management of acute and complex medical conditions following brain injury
  • Contribute to teaching and training, as well as to audit and research
Requirements
  • GMC Registration
  • CCT in Rehabilitation Medicine (or entry expected within six months of interview date)
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • Training in specialist neurorehabilitation and management of patients with complex neurological disabilities
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Advanced life support training
  • Post-registration training in general internal or other acute medical care
  • MD or PhD
  • Spasticity management
  • Understanding of commissioning of specialised services and how services are contracted
