Job Title: Locum A&E Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Anaesthesia to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have significant involvement in the delivery of cardiac anaesthesia and will be responsible for providing 24-hour, 7-day cover for the Unit on a rota basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Shared responsibility with other Consultants for providing 24-hour, 7-day cover for the Unit on a rota basis.
  • Provide clinical supervision of junior medical staff as a shared responsibility with other consultant colleagues.
  • Take an active role in the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of the department's/Division's Business Plan.
  • Be aware of and comply with all Trust infection prevention and control policies.
  • Be accountable for implementation of the Code of Practice within own department/area of responsibility.
Requirements:
  • Full Registration with GMC and completed subspecialty training programme in anaesthesia or within 6 months of completion or equivalent experience.
  • Wide experience and accredited training in most aspects of anaesthesia, including cardiothoracic surgery.
  • Advanced cardiac training/fellowship and experience in TOE (transoesophageal echocardiography).
