We are looking for a highly skilled Payroll Administrator to join our team in Uckfield, East Sussex.

This role involves managing a diverse client portfolio, including weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls, and dealing with all client queries related to these processes.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Liaise with clients and accurately enter payroll data from start to finish.
  2. Reconcile payroll to client data, obtain client approval as needed, and issue payroll reports and payslips.
  3. Prepare payroll journals.
  4. Reconcile weekly and monthly PAYE figures.
  5. Prepare BACS files.
  6. Administer Pension Auto-enrolment, making necessary declarations to The Pensions Regulator.
  7. Produce and distribute pension scheme returns, including notifications of changes in members' status and uploading to the pension provider.
  8. Effectively handle queries from clients and HMRC.
Essential Qualifications:
  1. Excellent numeracy skills.
  2. Thorough knowledge of payroll-related legislation, including PAYE, National Insurance, family leave, and pay.
  3. Able to manually calculate payroll results and explain calculations/breakdowns to clients.
  4. Good understanding of pension schemes and rules.
  5. Evidence of being a proactive, hands-on team player who can work effectively under changing priorities in a busy department.
  6. Natural organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  7. Flexibility, with longer working hours during busy periods to meet deadlines.
  8. Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.

The estimated salary for this role is £29,000 per annum, depending on experience.
